Assoc.Prof Dr. Nguyễn Văn Hiệp

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep was the first headmaster who also proposed and presided over the project of establishing Thu Dau Mot University. He was the Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Binh Duong Province from 2001 to 2010. It was during this time that he nurtured the idea of establishing a university in Binh Duong.
In 2009, Thu Dau Mot University was established, he was assigned the position of Rector. Since then, he has devoted himself to building Thu Dau Mot University into a multi-disciplinary, multi-sector, high-quality university in Binh Duong province - the South East - Economic Region - Southern key. Under his leadership, Thu Dau Mot University has developed very rapidly in terms of training scale, faculty members, facilities, science and technology. The school has built close relationships with many scientific and educational institutions in the country and established a reputation in society.
As a leader of Thu Dau Mot University, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hiep emphasized much on international standards. Since 2014, he has led school follow  the development of the CDIO training program and by 2015 the school has been accepted as a member of the CDIO World Association. He also led visits, worked and established cooperative relationships with some of the world's most famous universities, including the University of Kentucky (USA), Wolverhampton University (UK), the University of Waikato (New Zealand), University of Canberra (Australia), National University of Singapore, Chinan University, Binh Dong University, Da-yeh University, Hannam University, Woosong University.  According to the strategic plan, in 2017, Thu Dau Mot University achieved the national accreditation standards of higher education, 2018 is a member of AUN and some training programs meet AUN standards, Perform quality assessment according to International Standard (QS.STAR).
He holds great responsibility in managing and operating Thu Dau Mot University but Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Van Hiep devotes adequate time to scientific research. With expertise in the history of science, he is interested in researching the topics for the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province and developing Thu Dau Mot University. Some of his publications have been published, such as Economic and Social Transformation in Binh Duong Province 1945-2005 (National Political Publishing House 2010), Social Welfare - Status and Access of Workers in Binh Duong Industrial Parks (National Political Publishing House 2015), Material and History of Vietnam (2016) ... Currently, he is implementing the project on livelihoods and poverty reduction in Binh Duong. He is also very interested in researching and is chairing a scientific research program on the South East - Southern key economic zone.
